When you've been in business almost 35 years, 22 here in Columbia, you learn that customer service is just as important as having the latest products available.

TPM has everything an engineering firm, contractor, architect, graphic designer or marketing manager could need for a job: hardware (computers and wide-format printers and plotters,), software (AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D) and high-quality printing and reproduction (for trade shows, vehicle wraps, indoor and outdoor signage, banners).

TPM also has a manufacturing division that is focused on the needs of product designers and mechanical engineers. It has 2D design software (AutoCAD Mechanical, Electrical) and 3D modeling software (SolidWorks, Inventor) to help them better envision and develop their ideas, along with PDM/PLM solutions to better manage each product.

All those industry-leading capabilities keep customers coming through the door, but what keeps customers coming back is TPM's dedication to personalized, professional service.

"This is very much a relationship business, and long-term relationships are what we've hung our hat on" says Todd Brown, vice president. "A lot of our current customers are ones we had when we first opened here. When you're in the business of helping contractors, engineers and architects design massive projects, you're dealing with a demanding audience"

"In other markets, people go to a reprographics shop to have something reproduced" he says. "We go well beyond that with what we can offer. We have the software and integration, a hardware division and have our own service capabilities."

"We have a huge inkjet printer that allows us to print up to 10-and-a-half feet wide as well as other machines that can produce eye-popping tradeshow or construction site graphics and posters."

"It's that full range of products and services that set us apart from the competition."

TPM's Vista location is also convenient for its customers, Brown says.

"With our move to Assembly Street at the old Cromer's location, we're now within easy walking distance of many of our customers," Brown says. "And since time is definitely money in the construction business, and with so many architectural and engineering firms now in the Vista, our convenience means saved money for them."

"The move allowed us to expand and add a color graphics division and our walk-in business has increased steadily."

"It's fun for us to be involved all the way through an entire process, from design to groundbreaking to completion," Brown says. We're currently working on a project that's one of the largest in the state. We not only handle the printing that goes out to contractors for bid, but we also consult with the architects and engineers to provide training and support on the design software they'll use."

"It's tremendously exciting for us, and it's why we're able to keep so many relationships. We care about what we do, offer more than the competition, and keep our promises. That's what TPM is all about."
