Semper Fi? Semper Fun!

The Greater Columbia Marine Foundation and Columbia Opportunity Resource (COR) are "looking for a few good men and women"!

The USMC Mud Run is one of the largest and most successful Mud Runs in the Southeast with over 14,000 participants expected this year! The USMC Mud Run and COR are teaming up to recruit 900 volunteers to support the race and show our support for the Midlands' fighting men and women.

This is one of the largest volunteer efforts ever in the Midlands and we need you! The event will take place all day on September 25, 2010.

What do volunteers do?

We need community volunteers like you to help usher 14,000+ runners through the course during the event. From parking, registration, course marshalling to clean up and tear down, the event is staffed almost entirely by volunteers.

When and where?

Saturday, September 25, 2010. There are morning and afternoon shifts. Runners are encouraged to volunteer for the shift opposite their run. The Mud Run will be held at Sandy Run just south of Columbia, South Carolina. Exit 125 off of I-26. Directions will be sent to volunteers.

Why?

The Greater Columbia Marine Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, sponsors the Mud Run annually to raise money to support Marines and their families from the Columbia area who have been wounded or killed while serving on active duty. Profits from the race are also used to support several local college scholarships named after Marines killed serving their country and local events which promote the Marine Corps in the community.

Who is eligible to volunteer?

Adults ages 18+, with special exceptions to volunteer groups.
