Lexington County Energy Expo
COLUMBIA, SC - February 24, 2010 - Make plans to attend the Lexington County Energy Expo on Friday, March 5, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Saluda Shoals Park River Center located at 5605 Old Bush River Road in Columbia, SC. This event is open to the public free of charge.
The County of Lexington, with the assistance of the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission, will sponsor this Energy Expo to educate citizens on how to make their homes and lifestyles more energy efficient. The expo will include the following highlights:
• Energy efficiency exhibits and demonstrations
• Energy efficiency mini-workshops and guest speakers
• Exhibits featuring green building materials and supplies
• Information on CFL bulb maintenance and disposal
• Information on the energy star appliance tax rebates
• On-site hybrid vehicle displays
• Free on-site document shredding services for the public
• Drawings for give-a-ways from retailers/suppliers of energy efficient home appliances and supplies

As a special highlight, representatives from the SC Department of Energy will provide information about the new state tax rebates for individuals who purchase qualifying energy star appliances for their homes. You can receive rebates of $50 to $500 on qualifying purchases.
