Tuesday, October 30th, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
COLUMBIA, SC - Voterheads.com announced today that its official launch party will be held in the lobby and theater of IT-oLogy at 1301 Main Street, downtown Columbia, Tuesday, October 30th, 6:00 - 8:00 pm. The public is invited, but space is limited, so reservations are encouraged at www.voterheads.eventbrite.com.
StartSomeGood.com, the crowd-funding site for social entrepreneurs (and a sister company of Kickstarter.com) recently launched the fundraising campaign for Voterheads. A citizen participation/voter education website, voterheads.com is dedicated to changing the way America votes and participates in government.
Karl McCollester, Voterheads CEO, explains, “We're raising funds to help us accelerate development and get our beta version out for Richland and Lexington Counties.”
Earlier this year, Columbia City Council passed a resolution endorsing the Voterheads venture and promised to work closely with the organization to help accomplish its goals.
Voterheads’ goal is to provide an ongoing social media platform and alert service to provide users with information and the ability to vote and comment on local public meeting agenda items in which they have an interest. The service puts forth user-friendly candidate research in the form of a sample ballot linking to news, blogs, and other information specific to each ballot name and item.
