Around Columbia
Cayce‐West Columbia Jaycees Hall of Horrors
CAYCE, SC - For more than 30 years, the Cayce‐West Columbia Jaycees have produced the Hall of Horrors ‐ one of South Carolina’s longest running haunted attractions. Each year, the twisted minds that bring you the Hall of Horrors construct an all‐new terrifying experience. This year is no exception.
Thousands of visitors carefully venture into the dark and sinister halls each year to help the Jaycees raise thousands of dollars to support Camp Hope, the SC Jaycees’ summer camp for mentally challenged individuals, as well as numerous other charities. Unspeakable horrors await those who dare to journey into the unknown.
But those fortunate souls that escape will
breathe a sigh of relief knowing their bravery helped support so many
wonderful causes. The Hall of Horrors operates at the Cayce‐West
Columbia Jaycee Hut located at 1153 Walter Price Street in Cayce.

The CWC Jaycees work on fundraising projects and organize community
events throughout the calendar year to benefit many causes important to
the members of the chapter and the surrounding communities. Over the
past year, the chapter has donated more than $20,000 to local,
statewide, national, and international charities. That list of charities
includes Families Helping Families, Harvest Hope, Sistercare, the West
Metro Hispanic Ministry, the Dickerson Center for Children, Support Our
Troops, the Wounded Warrior Project, the Captain Kimberly Hampton
Memorial Foundation, Relay For Life, the Nothing But Nets Campaign, the
Blood:Water Mission, World Vision, and its largest beneficiary, Jaycee
Camp Hope. The Jaycees also commit to acts of community service such as
playing bingo with residents of Jenni-Lynn Senior Living and cleaning up
litter for the Adopt-a-Highway program along Highway #1 in West
Columbia.
About SC Jaycee Camp Hope
Jaycee Camp Hope is a statewide residential camp for children and adults with
developmental disabilities sponsored by the South Carolina Junior
Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees). The camp offers individuals and families
unique and entertaining opportunities near beautiful Lake Hartwell in
Pendleton, SC. Camp Hope also serves families by giving parents and
caregivers a rest while their camper is at camp. Campers develop
independence through daily camp programs such as canoeing, crafts,
overnight camping, archery, swimming, and other activities. Chapters
from across the state hold fundraisers to help maintain the camp and to
provide scholarships to offset the cost of camp for families.
