Columbia Metropolitan Airport to Host 3rd Annual Runway Run 5k Race

COLUMBIA, SC - Columbia Metropolitan Airport will host the 3rd annual Runway Run on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 10:00am. This 5k race will take place on the airport’s runway this year’s proceeds will go towards supporting the South Carolina USO.
Registration prior to Race day is as follows: $30 5K Run, $20 5K Military, $15 Junior ROTC, $10 Kids’ Fun Run (Ages 5k to 5th Graders)
Race Day rates are: $35 5K Run, $20 5K Military, $15 Junior ROTC, $10 Kids’ Fun Run (Ages 5k to 5th Graders)
COST: Before November 17 - $30 5K Run, $20 5K Military, $15 Junior ROTC, $10 Kids’ Fun Run

Registration includes a long-sleeve t-shirt.
Please note that the Runway is only closed for a limited time. You must be able to complete the 5K within 45 minutes. If you choose to walk, you may do so but be aware you may be picked up after 45 minutes if you have not completed the course.
The annual Runway Run first celebrated the re-opening of the main runway at the Columbia Metropolitan Airport in 2010 after completing a seven-month reconstruction process. In its third year, there is still excitement among participants to tread on highly secured tarmac where more than 85,000 passengers take off and land each month.
