KeenanSuggs To Support Hold Out For Hunger
COLUMBIA, SC - October 11, 2012 – KeenanSuggs and the firm’s employees will participate in the annual charity event, Hold Out For Hunger, on Thursday, October 11, 2012.
Hold Out For Hunger is a campaign hosted by Harvest
Hope Producers (H2P), the young professionals advisory board for
Harvest Hope Food Bank, to motivate individuals to hold out from buying a
meal (lunch or dinner) and donate the cost of
the meal they skip to Harvest Hope Food Bank (a suggested donation of
$10 or more). Harvest Hope can provide more than 50 meals to struggling
families in our community with just $10!
KeenanSuggs participated in Hold Out For Hunger for
the first time in 2011, and with employee contributions of $500,
KeenanSuggs matched the amount raised to donate $1000 to support Harvest
Hope Food Bank. KeenanSuggs Communications Manager
and Vice Chair of H2P, Ebonn Hixson says, “Hearing that one in four
children under the age of five go to bed hungry breaks my heart. Events
like Hold Out For Hunger can help eliminate statistics like this and
many others that plague our state.”
This Year, KeenanSuggs plans to continue their donation match, and encourages employees to attend the Hold Out For Hunger gathering to be held at the Nickelodeon Theatre from 12 – 1 p.m. on October 11. The gathering will be a networking/social function where those participating can learn more about Harvest Hope Food Bank, its mission and how to get involved in fighting hunger in South Carolina. Attendees can also register for prizes and check out the Nickelodeon Theatre’s newly renovated home at 1607 Main Street. Donations for Hold Out For Hunger will be accepted at the event.
