Irmo Fatz Helps Rotary Club of St. Andrews Raise $1,689 Toward Rotary International Polio Plus Campaign to Eradicate Polio and Six Childhood Diseases From Rest Of World
Jun 16, 2010
COLUMBIA, SC - June 16, 2010 - Bright and early on Saturday morning, June 12, Irmo Fatz Cafe manager Bruce Dressler opened his normally closed until 11 am daily restaurant at 7420 Broad River Road (781-5036.) This was done to enable members of the St. Andrews Rotary Club, in conjunction with Fatz Café staff, and all under the direction of Bruce Dressler, to raise funds to support the Club's commitment to help Rotary International eradicate polio and six other childhood diseases from the rest of the world. Club members sold advance tickets for the delicious pancake breakfast, which included a short stack of pancakes, sausage inks, and a choice of coffee, tea, milk, or juice. While Fatz Café staff cooked food, Rotarians took orders, served the meals, and waited the tables. St. Andrews Rotary netted $1,689 to apply to this very worthy international cause. Club President-Elect Johnny Moore, who begins his term as President on July 1, has a large number of volunteers eager to have another such event during the February/March 2011 time frame.
Those interested in knowing more about the world's oldest service club and one of the largest global humanitarian organizations should visit www.Rotary.org and/or contact JMoore@SouthMedInc.com .
