World Beer Festival Announces Date for 2011 Columbia Festival
Mar 10, 2010
COLUMBIA, SC - March 10, 2010 - With a successful second festival in Columbia concluded, All About Beer Magazine is pleased to announce that the third annual World Beer Festival-Columbia will take place on January 22, 2011, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
“Our World Beer Festival this past January confirmed what we believed about Columbia: this is a dynamic beer town with a growing group of people who are keen to learn more about great beer,” said Daniel Bradford, publisher of All About Beer Magazine, sponsor of the festival. With the support of co-sponsor Green’s Discount Beverages, the event saw attendance at the 2010 event increase by 25% over the previous year, with the number of participating breweries topping 100.
The Festival partnered closely again this year with two local non-profit organizations, Columbia Opportunity Resource, which managed and recruited volunteers, and The River Alliance, which also provided volunteers. “The enthusiasm of the Columbia volunteers helped make this the quality event that is our standard,” said Bradford. “The volunteers insured that festival visitors enjoyed themselves as they learned about beer.”
Bradford also singled out the local homebrewing club, Palmetto State Brewers Inc., for staffing the “Brew Crew,” which manages the beer for the event. “This is the hardest-working team at the festival,” he said.
As plans develop for the 2011 Columbia festival, keep up with the growing list of participating breweries, restaurants and musicians at www.allaboutbeer.com.
