CMRTA Will Not be Operating on Labor Day- Monday, September 3, 2012

COLUMBIA, SC - August 27, 2012 - The CMRTA would like to remind riders that service will be not be operating on Labor Day, Monday, September 3, 2012. This change in service is part of the CMRTA’s new Balanced Budget Service Implementation Plan, which was implemented in May 2012.
As a result of the service changes, the CMRTA has erased its $3.6 million deficit and achieved financial stability based on its current committed resources while also giving riders dependable core service. Just last week the CMRTA also presented its Vision 2020: Operations Roadmap proposing a new direction and approach to public transportation in the Midlands that will create a more innovative, connected and accessible system to facilitate a better quality of life for all Richland County citizens. Service will begin running again on Tuesday, September 4, 2012. For a complete listing of holiday closings, new routes and time schedules, please visit the CMRTA website at www.goCMRTA.com or pick up a map/schedule at the CMRTA Transit Center located at the corner of Laurel and Sumter Streets. Also as a reminder, the CMRTA is now offering riders new All-Day passes for only $3.50. The All-Day pass allows riders access to all fixed route service for only $3.50 per day.
