COLUMBIA, SC - July 3, 2012 - The USA Track & Field Association, recently announced that Dr. Dave Hale, Founder & Director of Sports Performance and Research of Velocity Distance Project was named as one of the top 50 distance running coaches in the United States to attend the elite endurance coaching program at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas July 8 - 13.

"I am very humbled to have been named to this list of elite running coaches," said Hale. "The curriculum and training during this program will be taught by the elite-level running coaches from throughout the world. These are the same people who coach Olympic athletes and other world-class distance runners around the world."

Hale's participation in this coaching program and his identification as one of the top endurance running coaches in the U.S. positions him to be one of the top running coaches throughout Columbia and South Carolina as a whole. As the Director of Sports Performance at Velocity Distance Project, he custom designs exercise and nutritional programs for his youth and adult clients who wish to raise their sports performance or reduce their weight during one of his several research-based fitness programs.

Hale mentioned, "One of the major problems in the fitness business today are the trainers and so-called coaches who prescribe the same "one-size-fits-all" fitness program. What this leads to is over-training, injury and lack of progressive improvement due to the program not being specifically designed for each participant." "I am excited that I will be able to provide athlete throughout South Carolina and the US with upper-level custom-designed fitness and running plans after participating in the USATF elite endurance coaching program."

Dave has positioned himself as not only one of the top running coaches and sports performance specialist in South Carolina, but is also a multi-race winning Senior Masters runner throughout the Southeast US.
